About Us

Set in the urban heart of Northfield, the Ecocentre offers practical and inspiring ideas and advice on how to green up your lifestyle, home or business, whatever the size and budget. We run a wide range of services, activities, and events across a variety of themes. These include energy saving, organic gardening, sustainable transport (cycling), real nappies and much, much more.

Our building is packed full of energy saving, environmentally friendly features (such as solar panels, a green roof and an air source heat pump) and lots of thought provoking displays. Why not take part in one of our regular eco groups, visit our organic gardens at Allens Cross and Masefield, pick up information or book an energy audit/assessment with one of our trained consultants. Have you got time to spare and skills to share? Get Involved as a volunteer or professional mentor.

Environmental Management System

Northfield Ecocentre was set up to help people discover how to live a more sustainable lifestyle. So to practice what we preach we set up an environmental management system (EMS) to help us monitor our environmental impact and find ways to reduce it. We went through the process of ISO 14001 accreditation which is an international standard designed to ensure the thoroughness and quality of our EMS, something we’re very proud of.

Annual Reports

Wherever possible we work with other organisations to make sure we have a bigger impact protecting our environment. Some of our partnerships include:
